(10/30/00) FIPA
Call
for Technology re interoperability between FIPA agents in wireless
and wireline network domains. Submissions, in the form of technology
artifacts (including but not limited to specifications, source code and
products), shall address one or more of the following requirements (in
part or completely): support for disconnected operation mode, support for
roaming from one gateway to another, use of profiles to specify the capabilities
of gateways and mobile devices, and, technology for bit-efficient representation
of FIPA message parts, especially the envelope and the content of the ACL
message.
-
(10/10/00) DARPA announced the first
release of a significant piece of the DAML
language. DAML is an effort to help bring the "semantic web"

-
(10/9/00) a JSR
relating to Java Agent Services was submitted to the Sun's Java
Community Process, and is available at the JCP website. The JAS aims
to provide a FIPA-compatible specification for the use of Java-based
agent systems that will permit Java agents to interoperate with themselves
and potentially with other agent platforms. This message is to bring
this to your attention, with an invitation for you to consider your organization's
participation in this effort. Please note that participation requires that
your organization signs the JSPA and that the final makeup of the expert
group is determined by the specification lead.
